Cup holders Chesham United Ladies booked their place in the semi-finals of the Berks & Bucks Women's cup with a 4-0 thrashing of Maidenhead on Sunday at Spratley's Meadow.
Their reward is a mouth-watering derby away to Wycombe Ladies on February 15. The winners will then play either Reading Ladies or Bracknell Town.
Chesham put out the strongest squad available but were still missing five regulars, while Amy Fisher on the left was still not fully fit and Sian Williams played with a heavily strapped hamstring
Captain Cath Andrews did well to hold the defence together, and Zoe Lance impressed in midfield.
The forward line saw Selina Khakee have a superb game down the left for her first start in the first team and, with Kat Bowers (pictured left) returning to form, they both whipped in crosses to plague the Maidenhead defence.
However, once again it was the no-nonsense approach of Alex Rogers that put the match out of reach. Her pace and determination is breathing new life into Chesham, and she thrashed the ball in to take the lead midway through the first half. Ten minutes before the break she spun on a loose ball and turned it into the goal for 2-0.
Maidenhead dropped very deep in the second half but Chesham were not to be denied. A Rogers looping shot hit the bar before Shantell Woodward reacted quickly to a back pass and skipped round the keeper for their third.
The scoring was wrapped up after good work from Katie Milton and Lance when Bowers tucked away a cross at the far post.
Chesham are looking for local players looking to step up to playing combination football, as well as girls aged seven-16.
