AMERSHAM & Chiltern had to make do with a single bonus point from the four tries they scored at Exmouth on Saturday - but victory always looked a tall order after a disastrous first half.
Chiltern actually started well after their 200-mile journey and were taking the game to the hosts before a collapse saw them go in 31-0 behind at the break.
They rallied after the break but slumped to a 36-24 defeat in their National League Three fixture.
In Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship, Chesham beat Didcot 27-10 with captain Gareth Wehrle saying: “We showed what we’re capable of today, with the forwards setting a platform and securing ball, the backs were able to show their class and get us territory."
League leaders Beaconsfield hammered derby rivals Aylesbury 37-3 in the Southern Counties North.
