THREE boys from Gayhurst School in Gerrards Cross have been selected to play for prestigious South East England Barbarians teams in the Regional Festival in February.
The trio will be involved in matches against The North, Midlands and South West in an event at Rugby School which will feature the cream of rugby talent from more than 300 prep schools nationwide.
Joshua Barton and Robbie Cartwright, both 10, will play in the U11 team and Dylan Moss, 12, will play for the U13s. All the boys recently attended trials at The Oratory School, with boys from more than 30 schools involved in nine matches played in front of a panel of selectors.
Barton and Cartwright also play for the undefeated Beaconsfield RFC U11 A team and three of their team mates also gained selection – Conor Hickman, Ross Hanekom and Dan Harding.
With such talent at their disposal it is perhaps no surprise that Gayhurst’s U10 rugby team have qualified for the highlyprestigious Lexus National Schools Rugby tournament – the largest rugby event in the school calendar.
Chesham Prep will also be present – the tournament takes place at Epsom College, in Surrey, on March 4 next year.
