Rugby round-up: Tough lessons for Amersham & Chiltern
AMERSHAM and Chiltern RFC suffered back-to-back home defeats with a 44-3 loss to Barnstaple.
Making the step up to the National League continues to be a steep learning curve for Amersham as a well-drilled Barnstaple side romped home.
They ran in six tries with Amersham only able to respond with a Jim Dye penalty.
In Southern Counties North, Beaconsfield kicked off their campaign with a 26-18 home win over Windsor while Farnham Royal secured an impressive 18-0 win at Chesham in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon 1 North.
