Saints take on former league favourites

DANNY Edwards is hoping his side can bounce back from their rare weekend defeat but knows his side face a tough task at home to Dunstable Town tonight.

The Saints boss was magnanimous in defeat at Oxhey Jets on Saturday as it was their first loss in 11 league games.

But with Tring and Aylesbury breathing down their necks, Edwards knows they need to get back to winning way as quickly as possible.

Dunstable were relegated from the Southern League last season and would have been confident of bouncing straight back this season.

But a run of just three wins in eight league games sees them languishing in ninth place in the Spartan South Mids Premier table but with six games in hand on Chalfont at the summit.

If they win those games they would be just two points behind the league leaders.

Edwards said: “Dunstable were one of the favourites for the league at the start of the season so we will not be underestimating them by any stretch.

They have got an experienced side. They came from a league above and know how to win games at this level.

“We have got ourselves in a good position and we want that league title.”
