Waddock: 'It's not over yet'

THE message from Gary Waddock was clear as he warned against writing off his Wycombe Wanderers side from beating the drop.

His side bounced back from their disappointing defeat last weekend with a solid display at in-form Brentford which left Waddock, his players and Blues fans disappointed only to leave Griffin Park with a point.

The draw keeps Wycombe in 23rd place in League One and six points from safety.

But with Brighton and Exeter losing and Gillingham drawing at Yeovil the point keeps Wanderers in survival contention.

And Waddock is remaining positive and was a visibly different man in his Saturday post-match press conference from the one which was left shell-shocked at Adams Park a week before.

Looking at Blues' remaining fixtures it is easy to see why with games against fellow strugglers Stockport, Oldham, Exeter, Tranmere and Gillingham still to come.

Waddock said: “We can't worry about anyone else and have to make sure we keep picking up the points needed and we have a point added to that.

“If we show that commitment from now until the end of the season it gives us a chance. It showed that the players care and that is what we are after.

“We have 15 games left and if we show the same desire then we have got more than a chance. It is not over. Not by a long way.”
