Chalvey WMC opened brightly and, in the fourth minute, their forward found himself with only Alvin Pickering in the Amersham goal to beat. His lob was well placed but Rob Baker, rushing back, managed to clear off the line. Amersham then scored a somewhat fortunate goal in the seventh minute. Adam Toone scuffed his shot but Tobi Akin intuitively stuck out a foot and diverted the ball past the helpless Mark Wells in the Chalvey goal. Toone was making his presences felt in the centre of attack and, on thirteen minutes he held off a defender and passed to James Dabb who curled the ball wide of Wells and into the corner of the net.

It was now wave after wave of Amersham attacks. Akin again went close and Wheeler King saw his shot hit the side netting. At the other end, however, Baker again had to be alert to halt a dangerous Chalvey break. Two goals in a minute by Akin on thirty two and thirty three minutes finished the game off. First, in the goal of the match, a lovely interchange between Toone and Akin resulted the latter slipping the ball past the advancing Wells. Then, Toone took the ball to the goal line and cut it back for Akin to get in front the defence and tap the ball into the net for his hat-trick.

The second half was only ten minutes old when a pass from Dabbs beat the offside trap and Toone lobbed the ball over Wells as he came out. Again Toone was involved in the sixth goal on seventy minutes when his shot from twenty five yards was deflected by Kyle Anthony past Wells.

Amersham’s final goal arrived on eighty two minutes just after Dabbs had hit the bar. Toone took the ball past three defenders and placed it into the corner of Wells’ net. Chalvey’s consolation goal came just before the final whistle when the Amersham’s defence failed to deal with a long ball down the middle and the attacker slotted the ball past Pickering.
