CHILDREN in Gerrards Cross have raised thousands of pounds for the helicopter ambulance following a surprise visit to their school.
Boys at Kingscote School managed to raise £5,438 for Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Service.
The initiative came after one of the charity’s helicopters landed on the school field earlier this year on a call-out to someone in a nearby house.
The boys spent this term raising money and held a charity day which included sponsored scooter rides.
They also did good deeds at home and collected 20p pieces from their parents in Smartie tubes.
Headteacher Fiona Davies said: “The boys have been so enthusiastic and we are delighted they have raised so much for such a worthwhile cause.”
