A DOG from Chalfont St Giles which meant missing in Spain has amazingly been reunited with its owner thanks to the Advertiser.
Teddy, who was found wandering the streets near to Marbella was found by Ivor Levor, a British man living in the area.
He had found that the dog was chipped and belonged to a J Clarke of Chalfont St Giles, but had been unsuccessful in making contact.
Mr Levor had been looking after Teddy in the mean time.
The Advertiser reported on the find in last week's edition, which was read by Paul Prokopiou of the Frost Partnership estate agents in Chalfont St Peter, who found that it jogged something in his memory.
He said: "I was reading the article while on my lunch break and the name J Clarke of Chalfont St Giles rang a bell.
"We had recently sold a house for a woman called Jane Clarke, so I got in touch with her daughter who still lived in the village.
"I asked her if her mum had a dog called Teddy which had gone missing in Spain, and she said yes and was amazed that I knew about it. I told her I had seen it in the Advertiser and she got in contact with her mum to tell her the news."
According to the Mrs Clarke, who recently moved to Spain, Teddy had gone missing while out on a walk.
He had apparently been scared by some men on motorbikes and had run away, and all efforts to find him had proved fruitless.
Mr Levor, who found the dog, said: "Mr Prokopiou got in touch with me after seeing the article.
"He contacted Jane and she was here to collect Teddy within an hour, after a month of wondering what had happened to him.
"She said it was the best Christmas present that she could have wished for. It's a great result and it's all down to the Advertiser, so many thanks, because without it, this would not have happened."
