Historian comes to Beaconsfield

Celebrated BBC historian Dr David Starkey CBE comes to Beaconsfield next month to speak at a special event to raise money for the children’s health charity Action Medical Research.

Dr Starkey’s infectious enthusiasm for history has led him to become one of the UK’s most respected and well-liked historians. Familiar to many for his regular appearances on television, his programmes are both accessible and popular, bringing history to life.

In 2009, the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII’s accession, Dr Starkey will be talking about probably the most famous monarch in our history and bringing fresh insight into the life of this most complex and fascinating of characters.

The event takes place at St Mary & All Saints Church, Windsor End, Beaconsfield, on December 2 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20 with a concession rate for students of £12. Light refreshments will also be served. After the talk, Dr Starkey will answer questions and sign copies of his book.

The event will raise money for the charity Action Medical Research, which funds research into a wide range of conditions that devastate the lives of many thousands of babies, children and their families.
