Beaconsfield Ale Festival in town this weekend

Beaconsfield Real Ale Festival

A extravaganza of real ale, music, food and dance takes place during a three day real ale festival in Beaconsfield starting Friday.

Taking place in the grounds of Beaconsfield Rugby Club in the Old Town, the event is open to the public on Friday and Saturday.

It is being laid on as the first of several events as part of an ambitious campaign to fund the transformation of neighbouring farmland into more pitches which will cost £100,000.

The fun starts at noon on Friday with and continues until midnight with cabaret and a hog roast as well as a grand opening by Harlequins scrum half Andy Gomarsal MBE at 7pm.

On Saturday, the Lions third test is to be televised at 2pm and revellers will be able to dance off their hog roast at a disco with DJ Shaw again until midnight.

On both days an American BBQ will be laid on all day along with a range of ales.

On Sunday the event is open to members only.

Tickets, £6, are available on the door, or at shops in Beaconsfield in advance for £5 including Period Furniture, Savilles estate agents, Sportscene and David Shuttles Cookshops.

Raimonds Pikelis of Beaconsfield Rugby Club said: "This is a community event and all are welcome. There will be something for everyone and we are going to have lots of fun whilst fund-raising for good causes."

Beaconsfield Rugby Club is at the end of Windsor End, at the junction with Cross Lane. For more information visit www.brfcevents.com.
