A DREAM came true for a man as he took flight in a helicopter for the first time.
Paul de Burgh, 88, who lives at Chalfont Lodge care home in Denham Lane, Chalfont St Peter, flew over Buckinghamshire at the weekend thanks to a grant from a charity that raises money for people with mental and physical problems.
Mr de Burgh had been a production manager in the film industry and had flown all over the world during his career, but he had never before had the chance to fly in a helicopter.
Thanks to the grant from Barchester Healthcare Foundation he was able to get his wish.
Mr de Burgh flew all round the county, travelling at 125mph and at a height of 12,000ft.
After landing he said: "It was a great opportunity and I'd like to thank everyone who made this possible."
