HAVING seen a lovely picture of a 94-year-old neighbour on the front page (June 11), I was incensed to read that she and her friends will be denied a social outing she very much enjoys because of "health and safety issues".
What possible health and safety issues can be raised against people preparing food for OAPs whose immunity has been built up in the war years, and who would rather keep their day out. So much these days is not allowed because of spurious health and safety reasons.
I would like also to comment on the letter from Ros Hurn accusing Tesco of ruining Gerrards Cross.
While I have no brief for Tesco I would have thought the planners have already ruined Gerrards Cross by allowing the demolition of substantial houses and their replacement with apartment blocks.
If this continues then Gerrards Cross will become just another commuter town.
Incidentally, I note that Tesco's contractors have an army of men and machines whose sole job seems to be to keep the high street clean.
It is certainly cleaner now than it has been for a while.
