Nov 13 2008 Buckinghamshire Advertiser
Regarding the front page "Stop turning our village into a tip" in the Advertiser on November 6.
I too have been living opposite the car park and rubbish dump for very many years and have seen the bin-area not only grow bigger but also developing into a dump. I often wonder what these people who dump their bags, mattresses, tins etc. by the bins would say if they looked out of their windows and see what we are seeing most days, particularly at weekends.
The Council really tries hard to keep the area clean. It is not realised that anything left on the ground is not recycled but goes to infill which is very costly.
I am not happy at having to pay £1,500 p.a. community charge (i.e. single rate) and looking at other peoples rubbish. Something must be done about it soon to catch these people who are so thoughtless and selfish affecting the residents living around the car park/bins. A camera should be installed in the centre of the bin area.
It is not a matter of name and shame them but face and shame them if their photos are published in the Bucks Advertiser and othe local papers. Both current cameras in the car park do not seem to make any difference.
To those who use the area as a dump: I am constantly sorting some of my things out. I'd love to dump them on your doorstop.
Name and address witheld.
