A bright outcome at GX annual sale

We have always wondered why, despite appalling summers, the sun usually manages to shine so brightly during our annual jumble sale, and 2008 has proved to be no exception!

Apart from a little fog early on Saturday, the sky was cloudless on both opening days and this undoubtedly contributed to a record number of customers who had come along not only to wander around the thousands of items that had been so generously donated by local residents, but also to enjoy the fellowship that has sprung up over the years.

A figure in excess of £10,500 has again been raised to help keep going this wonderful and unique facility that is the Memorial Centre, and our grateful thanks go out to all of you who helped make it happen.

You are too numerous to mention but you all know who you are - thank you.

Sadly this year is the last year that Gerry, who has been in charge for the past 15 years, will be leading 'the team' but hopefully a replacement will be found in time for next year's sale, on September 25 and 26.
