TO CELEBRATE his 50th year in entertainment Roy Hudd will talk about his life, as featured in his first autobiography, A Fart in a Colander, at The Elgiva this month.
With his characteristic enthusiasm and wit this enormously popular and much-loved comedy star will be reminiscing about working alongside our greatest entertainers, including Cliff Richard, Morecambe and Wise, Larry Grayson, Tommy Cooper and David Frost.
His personal story has, however, included more poignant elements, his father deserted the family when Hudd was very young and the subsequent suicide of his mother when he was evacuated during the Second World War left him to be raised by his beloved grandmother.

PETER Shaw will play Scrooge in Chesham Theatre Company's production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at The Elgiva, Chesham this month.
Karen Louise Hebden's adaptation, first seen at The Derby Playhouse, remains faithful to the words spoken by Dickens' familiar characters and includes many well-known carols sung by members of the Chrysalis Community Choir.
Suitable for all ages, the story follows Scrooge on his journey from miserliness to generosity, helped, in part, by Peter Larkham's Spirit of Christmas Present.
