The Amersham School and Woodside Junior School have both been forced to close on tomorrow (Tuesday) after a flurry of snow and freezing temperatures.
Buckinghamshire County Council have said that Woodside School, in Mitchell Walk, Amersham, has heating failure while The Amersham School, in Stanley Hill, has no heating with some of its water pipes having burst.
The county council will decide on Tuesday (6/1) whether both schools can be opened on Wednesday.
Pupils gathered to mark the 60th anniversary of Human Right Day at Dr Challoners High School last month.
The Amnesty International group at the school, in Cokes Lane, organised a moving protest and raised over £620 at their Christmas Fair.

Roy Hickman has retired as centre director at Amersham's Woodrow High House, a training and activity centre for young people owned by the Federation of London Youth Clubs.
Mr Hickman has been in post for 24 years and his time has coincided with a massive improvement in the facilities at Woodrow.
Enthusiastic teenager Katie Nash, will dedicate six months of her time towards helping to look after sick and abandoned children in South Africa.

Providing the tunes were the brass band from Dr Challoner's Grammar School - led by Graham Hollingdale - and The Amersham School's choir.
Staff at Tesco in Old Amersham donned pirate garb and raised more than £1,000 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
All 300 employees took part in the pirate day which raised funds for Tesco's charity of the year by staff using a rowing machine.
The fundraisers were sponsored to use the machine and customers offered donations to help boost the coffers on the big day.
Customer Services manager Sammy Naji said: "It was a great effort."
Supermarket manager Sarah Pillinger said: "It was a brilliant occasion which went down very well with all of our staff."
Three boilers were stolen during a burglary in White Lion Road, Amersham on December 17.
The thieves forced entry to a property on the St George Industrial Estate at about 7.15pm.
