Gaol: Use jail

Gatwick Airport: Cap up both words in title, but airport is lower case. Same for Heathrow

General election: Lower case

Gerrards Cross: No apostrophe

Government: Always lower case g

Gorilla: One r two ls. Soldier is guerilla

Grades: Listed buildings, the style is Grade I, Grade II etc

Grandad: Not granddad or grand-dad, but granddaughter (two ds)

Graffiti: Note spelling two fs, and one t

Gram: Also kilogram

Green Belt: Cap up like Green Party, but green issues

Grille: Grating, grill as in cooking

Gutted: When a building is gutted by fire it is left as an empty shell. Anything less is damaged by fire

Gipsy: Not gypsy or traveller.
