By Polly Manser

PEOPLE in Gerrards Cross who are worried about increased noise from the M25 when it is widened are mounting a campaign to get sound-proof fences installed along a 4km (2.5-mile) stretch of motorway.
Currently there are firm plans to install only 250 metres of new sound-proofing when the £4.5billion project starts in 2009.

by Jill MenghettiA CHESHAM girl who is a bright British hope for the London 2012 Olympics is facing a crisis in her gymnastics career because red tape is preventing full-time training time at her club’s current venue.
Chalfont Gymnastics Club elite section coach Jane Holliday said: “We have the funding, staff and venues to be able to set up full-time in the area at no cost to the council but can’t get change of use on buildings standing empty.”

by Polly Manser
pollymanser@trinitysouth.co.uk

WAITROSE has released detailed plans of the store it is planning to open in Gerrards Cross ahead of making a planning application in July.
The supermarket has struck a deal with Frontier Estates which owns the large plot of land between Station Road and Oak End Road where the store and 35 flats could be built in a development that will cost up to £10 million.
If the scheme is approved by South Bucks District Council it will be built on the site of Saffron's car show room on Station Road and will mean the demolition on Oak End Way of two houses, Saffron's service centre, and Saffron's car park. All of these properties have been bought by Milton Keynes based Frontier Estates in the last 18 months.
