A man who hid the keys to his BMW M3 while on holiday may have stopped it from being stolen in a burglary.
Two burglars, who had been seen arriving dressed in motorcycle leathers and helmets by a witness, broke in to an address in Lower Road, Chalfont St Peter, at about 10.30am on September 28, through a downstairs window.
They did not take anything but left together on the scooter.
PC William Hopkirk, said: “It appears the motive was to find the set of keys for a BMW M3 parked in the driveway. Luckily the keys were hidden.”
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious can contact PC Hopkirk at Amersham police station on 0845 8 505 505.
