Crue wins Jersey Players' Championship

Posted by Julie Voyce on October 5, 2007 2:43 PM |

Burnham Beeches assistant professional Crue Elliott followed up his course-record 60 with a seven-under-par 63 and a final round 68 to win the Jersey Players' Championship at Les Mielles Golf and Country Club.
The 23-year-old had looked comfortable all week, although with eight holes to play in the tournament his lead had been reduced to just one.

However, he held his nerve and a birdie at the 17th gave him a two-shot cushion which meant he could savour his victory down the last.
"It's a long time since I've played a tournament and shot three rounds in the 60s and so I'm really happy," he said.
"This is my biggest win. I have come close in a few big events so it was nice to play under pressure and deal with it really well."
