THE FINEST school choir in the country will appear on national television this Sunday.
Having won the Songs of Praise School Choir Competition back in March, Maltman's Green School became the subject of a two-day BBC project, which will be aired at 5.10pm and show footage of the girls singing at the school.
The choir, made up of more than 50 girls aged between eight and 11 years, was also invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in the Songs of Praise Big Sing Programme which will be shown later in October, as part of the the Songs of Praise Big Sing Programme.
Hilary Mason, conductor of the choir, said: "I was absolutely thrilled with the result and so proud of all the girls and their incredible teamwork."
The choir's incredible journey from rehearsals at the school to being crowned the best school choir in the country started to take shape when they won over judges, including Katherine Jenkins, with their rendition of Shine Jesus Shine and Irish Blessing at the finals in Manchester back in March.
