Arsonists target cars

IVER Heath has again been hit by arson attacks on cars with four incidents reported in the past month.
In the latest incident, a dumped car was set alight and abandoned at about 3.45am on Monday in Sevenhills Road, Iver Heath. Buckinghamshire Fire Service was called out to extinguish the fire.
And in another incident in the early hours of Friday August 31, a Vauxhall Astra belonging to one of the residents of Heaterden Green flats, in Heaterden Green Road, Iver Heath, was set on fire and fire fighters extinguished the blaze which happened at around 3am.

This follows an earlier arson attack in the parking area of the same block of flats at the beginning of August, when a burnt-out stolen car (model not known) exploded in the parking area, burning a nearby tree and cracking the window of one of the flats.
Residents of the flats have been left angry at the recent spate of attacks, and are questioning why they keep occurring.

"I don't know why that happened this time, but it's worrying. The area has gone downhill a lot lately, a lot of the people who have moved in to the flats recently have caused problems and it never used to be like this.
He added: "Nothing seems to be done about it. The police don't seem to have any sort of plan to stop it and when the burnt-out cars are left here, they are often left for days before being moved. There are a lot of people here who are getting angry about how the area is seen as a dumping ground for vandals and nothing is done about it."
As well as the attacks in Iver Heath, another car (model not known) was dumped and burned out at Iver Recreation Ground, Iver High Street, at the beginning of last month, causing damage to the outside of a block of changing rooms.
In April of this year, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service issued a statement warning residents of the dangers of arson attacks after dealing with 95 deliberate car, van and motorcycle attacks in the space of four months across the co
