A POPULAR member of the Chalfont St Peter community has died suddenly in his new home in Cornwall.
David John, 38, sometimes known as Jake, was found dead on the evening of July 22 by a friend.
The post mortem found that death was caused by a by rupture of a varicose vein in Mr John's oesophagus, which rendered him unconscious before he died.
Mr John, who had been a regular in the White Hart pub in Chalfont St Peter, moved to Liskeard in Cornwall several months ago because he was not enjoying life in the village.
Rachel Bree, landlady of the pub, said: "He was quite a shy guy but a very bubbly character as well. he liked to have a laugh and a good time.
"He used to come in here at weekends with his mates and was always good fun.
"He'll be sadly missed and our thoughts are with his family."
Mr John had lived in the village for several years and had worked in accountancy.
He moved to Cornwall in February of this year.
