FANCY a day of free activities? Then you should head down to your local leisure centre who will be allow free entry and use of their facilities on Saturday, September 1.
Wycombe Leisure Ltd has teamed up with South Bucks District Council (SBDC), Chiltern District Council (CDC), and Wycombe District Council (WDC), to celebrate being five years away from London hosting the 2012 Olympic Games.
To mark this, people will be able to visit any one of their centres across South Bucks for free on Saturday, September 1.
Participating centres are Chalfont Leisure Centre, Chesham Leisure Centre, The Beacon Centre, Evreham Sports Centre, Sprinters Fitness Centre, in Prestwood, The Chiltern Pools, and The Climb, in Amersham.
Activities available will include swimming, climbing, squash, badminton, judo, boxing, karate, diving, football and more.
Mimi Harker, CDC portfolio holder for community, young people, and communications, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for young people to try something new and have a go at a different sport.
“Hopefully people will enjoy the sports and take one up on a regular basis and, who knows, we may find a future Olympian.”
