Post Office robbed

AN ARMED robber raided a peaceful retirement community in Denham, stealing the contents of the till in the village's post office.
At about 1.30pm on Friday, July 13, a man walked into the shop in Denham Garden Village, pulled out a silver handgun and demanded the woman at the counter give him some money.
She opened the till and he ran off with the contents, making his way towards Denham Green Lane.

The suspect is described as white with pasty skin, 5ft 7in tall, of medium build and with narrow hips. His face was covered and he was wearing a dark baseball cap, blue jeans and dirty white trainers.
One resident of Denham Garden Village, who did not wish to be named for fear of being targeted, said: "It's absolutely disgusting, I can't believe it. I've always felt very safe here and then this happens.
"Crime is getting worse and worse at the moment, it's a disgrace. What sort of person targets pensioners? All people want to do here is relax and live peacefully without having to worry about criminals.
"The fact that it was an armed robbery as well makes it even more distressing. It's lucky that no one was hurt and that he didn't use the gun."
Police are still looking for the man, who is believed to be young due to descriptions of his voice and the speed with which he made his getaway.
A spokesman for Denham Garden Village said: "Security is something we take very seriously, not only for residents but also for staff. We already have CCTV in place throughout the village and are carrying out a full security review in conjunction with the police. No residents were in the post office at the time and the member of staff was unhurt.
"We are working closely with the police to identify those responsible."
Police are urging anyone who may know anything about the situation or who saw anything suspicious at the time to get in contact with them by calling DIC Iffat Shamim on 0845 8505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
