Brad heads to Finland

Posted by Julie Voyce on June 11, 2007 10:08 AM |

TALENTED young ice hockey star Bradley Stone is looking forward to a summer camp with top coaches in Finland after a stunning season.
Last year’s coaching in Sweden certainly paid off as the 10-year-old goalie from Iver was selected for the South West. He then helped them win the U11 final against the Midlands in the gruelling end of season junior inter conference tournament in Hull.

Earlier, the South West team travelled to Galeen in Holland where they reached the finals in their first international tournament. Bradley achieved five shutouts out of seven, conceding only one goal in the semis and one in the final.
He wrapped up the season with third place in the National Championships with his club team, the U12 Bracknell Bumblebees, a superb result considering it was the first time in eight years they had reached the event.
Bradley, who managed to pass his 11+ while undergoing rigorous training and travelling, is also celebrating his first half-century for his cricket team at Gayhurst School, Gerrards Cross.
But his next big ambition is to play for the England U13 ice hockey team.
