HIGH winds and heavy rain failed to deter thousands of hardy visitors who ventured out to this year's Denham Fayre.
At 7.30am on Bank Holiday Monday, approximately three hours before the opening, organiser Sharon Williams contemplated the unthinkable - cancelling the event.
The strength of the early morning wind was such that stall holders had trouble keeping their stalls on the ground.
The decision to go ahead with the proceedings, however, was rewarded with a surprising turnout of more than 2,000 people.
