County councillor Trevor Frank Egleton had a landslide victory at the Stoke Poges and Farnham Common by-elections on Thursday, March 29.
With 875 of the 1,531 votes, Mr Egleton, a Conservative and former leader of the council, beat his closest competitor, William Frank Foulds, an independent, by 592 votes. The turnout represented 23.84 per cent of the electorate.
Mr Egleton, from Duffield Lane, Stoke Poges, said: "It was a great honour to receive such a resounding endorsement from the residents of Farnham Common and Stoke Poges and I am extremely grateful for such a large turnout of supporters for a local authority election."
