Councillor supports Tesco

TESCO has the full support of a Gerrards Cross councillor as it prepares to hit back at health fears raised on a BBC programme.
The supermarket giant will soon respond to the BBC's Inside Out programme, when a Greenpeace scientist said that incinerator bottom ash aggregate (IBAA) used on the site near Packhorse Road is toxic and dangerous.
Tesco is still waiting for final touches to be put to a report by independent environmental consultants, the Alderley Consulting Group. Peter Chapman, chairman of Gerrards Cross Parish Council, met with representatives on Thursday, April 19 and was "very impressed".

He believes the consultants are "totally suitable to give them independent advice," with experience of IBAA and advisory roles on Government projects.
Mr Chapman said: "I have to say Tesco has responded in a way we would want them to.
"I do not think they have got any cards which they have not shown us and I think they are being completely open."
Michael Kissman, Tesco spokesman, said: "We have recognised the need to reassure local residents of this and this is why we have sought to carry out a number of tests.
"The results of these test are now being compiled into a report which we are confident will finally allay any concerns. Once this report is finalised we will work with the council to publish these findings."
