TALENTED young wimmers picked up top overall awards at the Berks & South Bucks County Swimming Championships.
Nia Kennedy of Chalfont St Peter scored a stunning success with a girls’ age group BAGCAT award for the third year running, this time the age 11 trophy.
The Beaconsfield High School pupil, who swims for Amersham Swimming Club, smashed four county records on her way to 12 gold medals. She also raced to one national qualifying time and nine Southern Counties times.
Her wins came in the freestyle 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m; backstroke 100m and 200m; butterfly 50m, 100m and 200m; and individual medley 100m, 200m and 400m.
Nia was also in the club’s county record-breaking medley team.
She added a club record swim of
9 mins 54.25 secs in the 800m freestyle, a race for 16 and under girls where she was eighth, a tremendous result considering her age.
Other placings were silver in the 50m back and fifth in the 100m breaststroke.
