FLAGS were flying high last weekend to celebrate a special birthday in the town for one of its most popular amenities.
Beaconsfield Farmers’ Market celebrated its fifth anniversary on Saturday and deputy mayor of Beaconsfield, Jaquetta Lowen-Cooper, was on hand to cut the first slice of the birthday cake and propose a toast to the next five years.
The market, in Windsor Road, on Saturdays from 9am-12.30pm, was launched by Thames Valley Farmers’ Market Co-operative in March 2002 and has developed into a popular Saturday destination for people to buy fresh local produce.
There are about 30 stalls offering a selection of reared meat, bacon, fish, game, dairy, bread and baked products, award winning cheeses, beer, honey, fruit juices and plants.
